We are delighted to have a very hard-working Student Council elected by our pupils annually. Elections are a lot of fun and take place at the end of September. There are eight members of our Student Council. There is a class representative elected from each of our senior classes (3rd – 6th) and these girls also represent the junior classes (Junior Infants – 2nd).
Our Student Council enjoys gathering the opinions of our pupils about how to improve our school. They also organise competitions and are a great help to Ms Moran when she needs to spread a message throughout the school. The Student Council also organises the Nuacht na Seachtaine and make regular announcements for the whole school on the intercom.
All children are encouraged to run for election and polling day is very exciting for all. Once elected, that’s when the hard work begins!
