Mission Statement and Ethos

Mary, Help of Christians Girls’ National School is a Roman Catholic School under the patronage of the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin, Dr. Dermot Farrell. The school provides Religious Education for the pupils in accordance with the doctrines, practices and tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and promotes the formation of the pupils in the Catholic Faith. Our school welcomes girls from families of all faiths and none.

The child is the raison d’être of the school.
  • We embrace Christian values as the basis of the moral development of the child and Christian principles guide all teacher/pupil relationships.
  • We work in partnership with parents. As the primary educators of their children, parents are regarded as a vital part of our educational team.
  • The positive relationship of our staff with the children, with each other, and with parents is fundamental to the implementation of good educational practice in our school.
  • Essential elements in the creation of a pleasant teaching and learning environment are mutual respect, trust and co-operation among staff, parents, children and the wider community.

It is our aspiration that, in this atmosphere, the moral, academic, aesthetic, social, physical and emotional potential of each child can flourish, her self-esteem be enhanced, and rightful dignity be accorded to each person.
