Mary, Help of Christians has been part of Languages Connect since 2022. During our first year, girls in 3rd Class learned Irish Sign Language with Sinead. The lessons were really enjoyable and a great skill for the girls. It was also good for the girls to learn how to communicate effectively with children and adults who are hearing impaired.
In 2023, 3rd Class started to learn French with Alice from the Alliance Française. This was equally enjoyable and the girls were delighted to be able to use their phrases during the school day. This is a great start for the girls because the Primary Curriculum Framework will introduce a modern language in primary schools from September 2025. This year our current 3rd Classes intend to learn more French with Diane from the Alliance.
